Disable "Call me at" when users join conference
We have a deployment where most users are NOT Enterprise Voice enabled.  However, it seems that whenever anyone joins a conference (web or multi-user) they are prompted on how to join the audio, and "Call me at:" is an option for them.  Should the non-EV users be allowed to select the "Call me at" option?  If so, is there some way to disable that as an option or configure the "Join conference from" settings for the users?  I don't see anything in the Lync ADM or in-band provisioning that controls this.

Hello Phil

The "call me at" option is actually a conferencing setting.  This is actually about allowing the meeting to dial out.  You can change the behavior from the conferencing settings in Lync Server Control Panel "allow anonymous participants to dial out"

Thanks Jay,

However this box is already unchecked in the Conferencing configuration.  Any other suggestions?

That dial out conferencing should not be working.  Here is the documentation on what is supposed to happen for web conference policies.

Hi Phil,

Alternatively, you can go to Lync client-->Tools-->Options-->Phones-- Uncheck Prompt me before joining to confirm or select another audio source". With this the Join Meeting Audio box will not prompt while joining meeting.

Sorry, I had this posted in the Partner forums as well.  Here's what I did:

I was able to find a solution/work around.  We are going to set the following registry keys either via script or Group Policy Preference:

The following two registry entries control the settings under the Lync Client Options -> Phones -> Join Conference Calls.  Both are REG_DWORD keys:

  •         HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Communicator\AllowOverridingDeviceAtJoinTime
    • 1 = Prompt me when joining audio
    • 0 = Do not prompt
  •         HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Communicator\JoinAudioConferenceFrom
    • 1 = Lync
    • 0 = Do Not Join Audio

For Skype For Business 2015 use this path:  HKCU\Software\Microsoft\15.0\Lync\ with same keys.
